My life and virtually all of my interests revolve around contemporary art. The more that time goes on and the more that I pursue these interests, I find that I accrue a countless number of ideas based off of the inspiration I find when I come across the things that I learn about from other artists. I began getting so excited about my endeavors that at times I wanted to share them with any and all receptive ears that were around me. I then realized that I wanted to make my aesthetic resources which I have found through my explorations available to anyone who was interested. Thusly, I created this website.

However, this website isn’t here just for artists or anyone who has ever even been interested in art. This is here for anyone who is open enough to let these things capture them and take them where they please. I live under a very strong belief that art should never be caged, and that any person who has senses can observe and freely participate. Therefore, I think that everyone is valuable in their own right in terms of this understanding and participation. To quote art historian Sir Ernst Gombrich: “There is no art, only artists.”

Mirroring what is much like a diary, I post something every so often that inspires and catalyzes my work and aids my overall intellectual and aesthetic progression. I enjoy presenting contemporary artists who I find in my research, but I also enjoy presenting things that aren’t necessarily pronounced as art by everyone else. Nevertheless, I would like you to gain from them what I have gained from them.

How you view these resources are under a minimalistic setting so that it’s under a clean slate without any outside influences. I have decided to only leave you with the artist’s statement and/or a description of a particular piece that I present. Think of it as a trip to an art museum which I have curated. What I would like to emphasize is the importance of the expierence through the exploration of these resources with a view through your own eyes, and not through the goggles of my opinion.

You may also be wondering what the word “anoumena” means. Although it is a word that I have created, it still remains somewhat of a mystery to me. It was born during an evening when I was sitting in my philosophy class, and my professor was lecturing about a philosopher named Immanuel Kant. Kant believed that we will never know things as they really are, and we will only know them as we percieve them. That is, he believed there is a realm of things in their own existence which is completely independent of our minds. He called this “noumena”. In a wonderful fit of creative exuberance, this idea created and entirely new world of possibilities in my imagination. It became my own, thusly earning the letter “a” at the beginning. I use the word anoumena in association with how I perceive aesthetics and the world around me. And there you have it.

Please enjoy!
